If you’re extending your holiday with a bit of time in London at either end of your journey, or you’ve pulled into St Pancras on business from the Continent, you won’t need to look very far for exciting things to do – this is one of the world’s major tourist destinations, after all!

2) If you fancy getting out into some open space, there’s Regent’s Park, which is a short journey away. Walk through 395 acres of parkland, see 400 types of rose in Queen Mary’s Gardens, and visit London Zoo!

9) Another famous London landmark is St Paul’s Cathedral, which you definitely won’t want to miss. You can explore the stunning interior, and if you want a superb view of the outside, cross the Thames via the Millennium Footbridge and look back.

10) Near St Paul’s is the City of London, the “Square Mile”, home to much of the UK’s international financial sector. Take a walk around! There’s the historic Bank of England, as well as many modern skyscrapers – including “The Gherkin” (30 St Mary Axe).
