Booking your airport transfers in advance

Posted by admin on May 16, 2012 at 9:46 am. Filed under: Airport Transfers

Like a lot of people, you might be planning or have already booked your summer holidays. Getting away from it all for a week or two can be the perfect way to lower your blood pressure and indulge in some rest and relaxation.

To be able to fully enjoy your vacations, it’s important you sort out the details of your trip so that it’s stress free. For example, you might want to think about your London airport transfers. Being able to make it to and from your transport hub of choice with ease will help to ensure your vacation starts and ends in the best possible way.

Booking early to beat the queues

You’ll certainly not be alone in your desire to arrange transport to your airport. Plenty of Brits are set to take to the skies this year, it has been suggested. According to British Airways American Express Credit Cards, UK consumers will spend a combined total of more than £36 billion on getaways in 2012.

Meanwhile, of the 23.6 million adults who plan to head off on vacation, 49 per cent intend to be away for a week or longer.

What money troubles?

The findings suggest that individuals are refusing to let the ongoing economic problems deter them from getting their breaks in the sun.

Responding to the statistics, Julie Hay from British Airways American Express Credit Cards said: “Last year saw many people exercising frugality in the face of difficult economic conditions, but it is promising to see that this year we are likely to see a turnaround in that trend.”

The Olympic effect

As well as seasonal holiday travel, there’s also the issue of the Olympics to bear in mind. While the Games are being staged in the capital in July and August, there will be many more people using the city’s airports.

Peace of mind

With so many people preparing to enter and leave the country over coming months, you might feel anxious about booking your Gatwick Airport taxi. However, as long as you look into this issue sooner rather than later, you won’t experience any problems.

By ticking this off your to-do list early on, you can focus on the other details of your holiday and enjoy greater peace of mind, and this is something to take into account when you organise your itinerary.

The End Justifies the Means

Posted by admin on May 2, 2012 at 9:27 am. Filed under: Airport Transfers

The old adage of ‘The end justifies the means’ is ambiguous enough to be applied to a wide range of situations. However, its relevance to holidays cannot be doubted.

Think about it: when you book a holiday, you are really booking the ‘sunset moment – namely, the ideal image of what it will be like once you are away (i.e. sitting on a glorious beach as the sun sets). Everything else that you book (transport, flights, transfers, etc) is simply the apparatus (the ‘means) needed to help you achieve your sunset moment (the ‘end’).

Sadly, aspects such as getting to and from the airport can often be so convoluted that even the most impressive sunset moments cannot justify the amount of stress and effort it took to get there.

In these situations, the end clearly does not justify the means and therefore your holiday will only be remembered for the wrong reasons.

Happily, it is quite possible to swing the odds of enjoying your holiday for the right reasons significantly in your favour. Indeed, booking a London airport taxi to take you to and from the airport will cut out a large degree of the stress and effort involved with going on holiday.

Certainly, relaxing in the back of a Gatwick Airport taxi will make everything seem far more worthwhile than shivering on a train platform, that’s for sure!

Surge in the Popularity of Senior Holidays

Posted by admin on April 15, 2012 at 8:08 am. Filed under: Airport Transfers

They used to be confined to a few days on the coach at the seaside, but today’s seniors are heading out to the far reaches of the globe for golfing holidays, luxury safaris and superb adventures in the sun, sea and snow! Our client base is pretty broad and, as is the way of the taxi driver, we love to chat to our London airport taxi clients. Unexpectedly popular travel destinations that some of our past mature Heathrow and Gatwick airport taxi clients have visited include Las Vegas, the Maasai Mara (Kenya), Dubai, Japan  and New Zealand. Who knew Brit seniors had such fabulously adventurous tastes?

There are apparently several reasons why seniors are enjoying the good life in their twilight years: they’ve saved and saved all their life, and now it turns out airfares and package holidays are falling over themselves to get the mature pound. There are scores of holiday companies aimed at providing superbly tailored trips for seniors – they’re a niche market and they know it!

Seniors are also a lot healthier than OAP’s of previous generations, which makes sitting by the window watching the world go by a bit of a waste of time, especially when they could be out cycling, fell running or kayaking with the best of them! Our Heathrow and Gatwick transfers and taxi services are perfectly placed to make sure senior holidaymakers begin and end their holidays in an organised, punctual, stress-free manner!

Top Tips for Travelling with Twins

Posted by admin on April 2, 2012 at 3:27 pm. Filed under: Airport Transfers

You’re lucky enough to have double the cuddles, mischief and trouble that comes with twins. You’re also unlucky enough to have to go through that potential trauma – airport travel with twins! Our London airport taxi services cover all sizes of families, including those terrible little twins in the terrible twos!

You can’t plan ahead enough when travelling with twins, especially when it’s 1 adult versus 2 kids. You have to try and minimise clutter without leaving anything behind, so get going on that military campaign of air travel organisation nice and early. And yes, that means booking our Heathrow or Gatwick airport taxi services asap!

If there are two adults, think about using two separate buggies in place of your usual wide twin buggy. A cheap set of strollers that can be battered up and down beach paths, along rustic pavements and through narrow European toilet doors could save a lot of aggro. It also means you can separate the duo if needs be.

Pack complete outfit changes in resealable plastic bags for super fast changes when travelling.

Try to avoid as much stressful transport as possible; that means taking our taxi to Gatwick airport and having us collect you from your gate to bring you home! When it comes to foreign transport, think about whether it’s worth the lower cost to higher stress ratio to take the bus instead of booking a taxi!
